Moon perched on a leafless umbrella tree

The moon sits on a leafless tree

     above a loving duo;

the fruit of their dream come true,

     born many years ago.

Moon atop a fountain.

What brought the moon down into a fountain

     whose water is but an eddy of a spring?

Would it have found instead a high mountain

     far from busy feet and hearts grieving? ~
