Practical Technology at Home

 Practical Technology at Home

By Dr Abe V Rotor

Trees serve as windbreak, as buffer against dusts and sound. Trees create a miniature climate by moderating extreme and sudden changes in temperature and humidity. They exude oxygen around them by as much as 10 percent of the normal oxygen level, while they absorb carbon dioxide and other gases in the air. Living in a grove is healthful and helps in early recuperation, especially among convalescents.

Have oregano (Origanum vulgare) always in your garden. It is an herbal remedy for flu, sore throat, bad breath, and other ailments. Oregano is a natural pesticide, it repels mosquitoes, flies, cockroach, lice, etc. It is also a deodorant. Try dinuguan with oregano. Oregano in pizza is the secret of Italian pizza.

Be careful with wild mushroom, they may be poisonous. The rule is, if you are not sure of the kind of mushroom, don't dare to eat it.   Old folks may be familiar with mushrooms growing in the open, but just a word of caution.  There is no antidote to mushroom poisoning, specially the Amanita species (lower photos Internet).

Clean glass bottle the practical way palmera stalk. Thoroughly clean bottles with warm water and soap. Remove stubborn dirt and stain with brush or sand. Sterilize glass bottles in the sun.  Invert bottles to dry under direct sunlight for a day or two. ~
