Fungus Art
Dr Abe V Rotor
Silence is all I hear, save a gnawing fungus on the wall;
No, that is mine, I said, you will ruin my humble painting;
Wind and rain, cruel glare of sunlight and all join the fray.
Years passed. Look! a masterpiece rose from its hiding.
Fungal mycelia ramify over a section of a wall mural painted by the
author in 2016. The mycelia spread at a corner crossing over an image
of a boa constrictor coiled around a tree limb, adding a queer effect to
the composite scene.
Fungal mycelia scale a tree painted on the wall in a mysterious
design, an example of joint expression of Nature and man.
Both images may be viewed at the Living with Nature Center
(San Vicente Botanical Garden) San Vicente, Ilocos Sur ~
