I used to be a cockfighter in troubled years,

when winning I had friends all around,

when lost, I lost them, too.

The Janus I was, king of the world, 

alone in the quiet of dawn,

and in abandon.

Who is he, Grandpa? asked a little one;

Oh, he was the greatest fighter

but lost in the battlefield. ~
