My Early Paintings: TEMPEST and OLD STONE HOUSE

My Early Paintings
TEMPEST and OLD STONE HOUSE
Dr Abe V Rotor

1 - Tempest

"Rage, rage, rage, on thy cold grey stones, O sea."*
  a line I memorized in high school many years ago,
  rising from tumultuous childhood, to what I'd be;
  not "to go gentle into that good night,"as others do.

*A mix of two classic poems that look out at the ocean and fight against the inevitable: "Break, Break, Break" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson and "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas.

"When you come out of the storm, you won't be the
same person who walked in." — Haruki Murakami

2 - Old Stone House

"Old houses are full with memories and that's why they resist to collapse!" - Mehmet Murat İldan (Turkish novelist and playwright)

The old stone house where I was born,
and through childhood grew;
 sweet memories treasured in old age,
      into sweet, nostalgic view. - avr

"Its walls were thick and stood solid
in the midst of the world.
The house became home to those
who dwelled within its walls.
A gathering place of friends,
a resting place for strangers.
It sent out its family
to build other houses into homes."

- Excerpt from The Old Stone House by Vernon Snider
and Grant Snider from Internet. ~
