Chandeliers of Capiz Shells
Dr Abe V Rotor
Chandeliers of Capiz above my head,
I'm under the sea it seems;
among mermaids and corals for bed,
bathe in the glow of moonbeams.~
Chandeliers
made of Capiz shells. Top, Mary Grace Restaurant at SM Fairview mall
where a group reunion of St Paul College Ilocos Sur took place recently. The Province of Capiz was named after the highly prized Placuma placenta oyster which is worldwide famous for the classic and elegant crafts made from it such as lampshades, window panes of houses of colonial design, and Christmas lanterns (parol). ~
