"I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough,
Paintings and Verses by Dr Abe V Rotor
1. Cave Adventure

Speleology and tourism, what a combination,
though both exploit the secrets of the past,
trace the beginning of human's civilization,
and Plato's allegory of the escaped outcast.
2. Ivy on the Wall

Linnaeus, if alive today, would wonder,
how he missed in his study
organisms posthumously emerged
from science and technology.
3. Coral Reef

Coral reef of deceiving beauty,
red for warning, black for death;
white as skeleton; blue-green,
invasion of the primitive scum
that once ruled the early earth.
4. Creation

If you can decipher what life forms these are,
you must be an artist, like Picasso or Matisse,
masters of abstract art - not the ideal, the real,
the form and order of God's creation remised. ~
5. Transition

On the road of change:
the passing of time
and seasons,
and the cycle of life;
Everything changes:
key to diversity,
impermanence,
and the essence of beauty
7. Red Heart

Leaves, like the heart,
turn gold before they fall;
From youth mellow down
to nature's call;
Like candle, brightest it glows
before dawn.
8. Forest on Fire

When lightning strikes in the middle of summer.
When loggers destroy and abandon the forest.
When kaingeros clear the forest for cash crops.
When defoliants flush out enemies from their hideouts.
When squatters build homes clandestinely in the forest.
When the forest is but secondary growth to an original cover. ~
what is enough?" -Vincent Van Gogh
